Federal debt and debt as % of gdp | 1929-2020

Fast analysis on the latest graphics i made (mainly for fun, during study session's breaks)

- From 1981 Regan tax cut, debt as % of GDP, jumped from 31% to 61%, in just 10 years.

- The compound annual growth rate of Total debt, from 1921 to 2020, is 8,37%.

- 1929-2020 Volatility of 12,08% increased of 0,11% from 1929-2019'one.

- CAGR of Total Debt is 8,52% after Regan Tax cut in 1981. So, 2,94% more than CAGR from 1929 to 1981.

- Median of Debt as % of GDP, from 1929 to 1981 is 42%. From 1982 to 2020, increased by 48%, to a total percentage of 62%, touching 129% in 2020.


This is just to explain that if you want to understand today's choices, you need to look what's happened some decades ago.
